I could not agree more. This challenge mission just sucks. Who wants to play a MMORPG...solo?! Kind of defeats the "MMO" purpose of it. The Sahlajahrajaharalhja (why does the name have to be so freaking hard to spell?) CM is about as innovative as online Tetris.

Well i have gotten the top score twice without ever getting a single armor remnant. I think it was because prior I played it several times for armor pieces. But since then I have never gotten any. Scores were at 300 and 600 I think, when I didnt get an armor piece. Sometimes I think theres a set amount of armors your allowed to get

Oh boy I hate this mission. I did it a lot for my mapping title and I swore never doing it again. When I want armor remnants, I'll just buy 'em. Will save me some frustration because I'm just horrible at it and I don't feel the need to improve at it either.

this thread may have been necro'd but its still relevant .....been working on my titles and yep only seem to get the buggers on the first try even when I scored much higher on subsequent runs....guess I need to get some of my other characters over to this mission if I want to get all their heroes outfitted with new armor......(only doing m of whispers and tahlkora for that one but still have lots of characters ....)

I just recently got my armor remnants.

100% random chance. Has nothing to do with your score at all.

I got a piece on first kill, I got a piece on a kill with 150ish points, and again on 30ish points.

All you need to do is kill a maddening spirit (Haven't gotten any from lost souls, but haven't tried really. I just camp near the greater and kill the maddening.)

As an aside. The mysterious armor ones are a pain. Been trying to get those ones and still need 2 more. Many kills and only got 3. Bad luck.

mapping gave me 3 remnants in about 5 runs, approx 2 spirits killed each run

When mapping, I obtained a surplus of armor and relatively high score. (200+)

How many more do you need/want?

I still have about 10 more characters that need them (its 22 left for me)...but I think I will do it the hard way.....never got one on the first try...usually need a score around 70 for me to get one....

Ancient Armor Remnants can only be obtained in the Remains of Sahlahja Challenge Mission. It does not drop, but instead appears in players' inventories at random as a reward after killing a Lost Soul or Maddened Spirit.

You will not receive Ancient Armor Remnants for every Lost Soul or Maddened Spirit you kill. They are randomly given to the player.

I don't really mind the fact that A-net limits the amount of armor drops one receives per character, but I wish the "randomness" was improved a bit

I eventually got all of my pieces-- after much frustration on my part. (Esp. in the desolation)

As other posters mentioned, I got the first 4 pieces in the Shadow Nexus pretty quickly. Didn't get the last piece until about a month ago, when a guildie wanted to get his pieces. I switched characters after reaching the limit, and my rit was able to get at least one piece while we were there.

At least the EoTN hero armors (and perhaps, DoA) aren't based on such a mysterious drop code. (they are, of course, harder to obtain, as a result.)

Still getting all the armor styles for the heroes I have is a daunting process..

Armor drops aren't limited, and the Ancient Armor Remnants don't drop from Lost Souls.

Good thing my death magic is low, so it'll die again soon...

As far as being "completely random drops", I have to disagree...but, I won't be doing this mission any more, just going to buy the armors at this point.
